Your Mission

As a software developer focused on advanced system development, you will belong to a unit within the Cyber Operations Department. The department provides protection to Sweden's most vulnerable operations and is part of our national cyber defense.

The group you will join primarily works on developing systems used within the access development office. You will work with the entire chain from idea to design, development, delivery, maintenance, and decommissioning. In this role, there is also the opportunity to draw relevant conclusions from complex relationships and to use your knowledge to create new methods and tools through self-study and development. The work is conducted closely with users and is often carried out in smaller groups, but individual tasks also occur. You will join a group where the atmosphere is unpretentious and where we actively help each other to achieve our common goals.

Travel may occur in the position, both domestically and internationally.

You Can

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in computer science or a related field that the employer deems relevant, or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience
• Several years of experience in software development
• Good knowledge of one or more programming languages, e.g., C, C++, and/or Rust
• The ability to write and communicate fluently in both Swedish and English

As you will come into contact with the areas below in your work, we consider it advantageous if you have knowledge in one or more of them:

• Development for Windows or Linux/Unix environments
• Network programming
• Modern development methods such as automated testing and CI/CD
• Algorithms and data structures
• Operating system architecture
• IT security
• Compiler techniques

More Information

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. Before employment, you will be security vetted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in wartime.
